Course Information
Driver Licence Passenger Endorsement Course
This Land Transport NZ approved passenger endorsement course assesses participants against New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) unit standards specified by Land Transport NZ so as to confirm that they have the to the required level of competency to hold a Passenger (“P”) endorsed Driver Licence. Trainees must as a minimum hold a current full Class 1 Driver Licence to attend this course.
The course is conducted over one day; course participants are trained and assessed against two NZQA unit standards:
15164 - Demonstrate knowledge of driving hours law and complete driver logbook
17579 - Demonstrate knowledge of driver licensing requirements for endorsement P (Passenger)
At the successful completion of the course participants will be issued with a Land Transport NZ Driver Licence & Endorsement Certificate. This Certificate, together with the required driver licensing fee, must be presented to a Driver Licensing Agent within 60 days of issue to gain their Driver Licence endorsement for this qualification.
Courses are conducted in East Tamaki (weekly) and (given sufficient numbers) in Christchurch or elsewhere throughout New Zealand.

Class 2 (Medium Rigid) Driver Licensing Course
This three day Land Transport NZ industry approved training course provides the necessary skill, knowledge and professional expertise for trainees to obtain their Class 2 Driver Licence. Participants must hold a Class 2 Learner (2L) Driver Licence to attend this course.
The course is conducted over three days, and includes indoor theory sessions (to enable achievement of mandatory unit standards) and practical in-vehicle driver assessment and licence testing.
Course participants who are employed or self-employed may be eligible for a government subsidy; however special conditions apply.
Courses are conducted in East Tamaki (weekly) and (given sufficient numbers) in Christchurch or elsewhere throughout New Zealand.

Class 4 (Heavy Rigid) Driver Licensing Course
This three day Land Transport NZ industry approved training course confirms drivers have the necessary skill, knowledge and professional expertise obtain their Class 4 Driver Licence. Participants must hold a Class 4 Learner (4L) Driver Licence to enrol for this course.
The course is conducted over three days, and includes indoor theory sessions (to enable achievement of mandatory unit standards) and practical in-vehicle driver assessment and licence testing.
Course participants who are employed or self-employed may be eligible for a government subsidy; however special conditions apply.
Courses are conducted in East Tamaki (weekly) and (given sufficient numbers) in Christchurch or elsewhere throughout New Zealand.

Bus & Coach Driver Entry Training (BusTrain) Course
The DECA Training "BusTrain" Course prepares drivers for entry into the Bus and Coach Industry. Over two days participants cover Log Books, stress and fatigue management, defensive driving, and vehicle pre-start checks. Upon completion Land Transport NZ requirements for a full Class 2 or 4 Licence and P endorsement will have been achieved.
To attend this course at least a current New Zealand Driver Licence Class 2 L (Learner) is required.
BusTrain is a two day course which may be programmed over weekend days should this make training more accessible to participants who may be otherwise employed on weekdays. If an employer requires assessment of candidates during darkness additional training time may be required.

National Certificate Training
DECA Training is able to offer a range of training leading to achievement of a National Certificate. All are included in the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) managed by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and are nationally recognised qualifications that provide recognition and credit for a wide range of knowledge and skills.
Training to achieve a National Certificate requires a commitment from both the trainee and his or her employer as training is often conducted on weekends, and may run over several months. Indeed many National Certificate programmes must run over two calendar years, a requirement set by the Tertiary Education Commission.
